Kate's clothing designs are based on beautiful fabric and simple construction. In most of these examples, silk fabric has been dyed using natural dyes.  Different surface design techniques are used to embellish the fabric, including: screen printing, machine and hand embroidery, devore, and shibori.  Kate occasionally uses her handwoven fabric to make clothing.
